Release notes for Dynamics 365 Human Resources (and all other D365 and PP products) wave 1 2025 are here! But what will the team prioritize in the upcoming period? Let's have a look together.

The focus will be - drum roll please - yes, you got it: AI and Copilot.

The goal: to simplify and optimize the HR function, aka: 🌈THE DREAM🌈

Sherlock Holmes with Copilot for recruitment

Hire faster, easier, (sounds like Daft Punk) and more efficient. It's designed to help HR admins, recruiters, and hiring managers focus on the important, important bits of hiring while the system handles the heavy lifting.

What’s so cool about it?

  • Job descriptions for the win: auto-generated and well-structured descriptions.

  • Interview assistant: role-specific interview questions tailored to each candidate’s experience. Inspiration every time.

Why does it matter?

  • It makes the whole process smoother and less biased, ensuring you stay focused on the right talent, not the admin work.

  • Plus, it creates a more candidate-centric experience, which is key to attracting - and retaining - the best talent.

Who needs this?

Anyone involved in hiring — HR admin, recruiter, or hiring manager— this feature is a game-changer in making the hiring process easy for all.

Hire me softly

On top of your onboarding guides - which already exist in D365HR - new hires get access to admin tasks that will make the initial days super easy. Things like collecting docs or getting reminders on training schedules and other hustles are a given.

Why is it important?

  • Automating means saving time: cutting down the admin task is everyone's dream, while also reducing human error.

  • Good experience: new employees feel part of the team right away, making them more likely to stay engaged.

  • Integration: It’s all built right into Teams, so there’s no need for additional apps or systems.

Who benefits?

HR professionals, onboarding specialists, and hiring managers who want to streamline their process, save time, and give new employees an awesome welcome. It makes onboarding more organized, efficient, and cool.

Onboard like a pro

A good onboarding program is essential, but a well-designed, automated process that allows managers to track new hires' progress is even better for a smooth transition.

What’s in it for you?

  • Track their tasks: managers can monitor the progress of tasks assigned to new hires.

  • Intro comms: Say goodbye to manually writing welcome emails, this feature will automate those communications and make employees feel better.

Why is it important?

  • Automating means saving time: cutting down the admin task is everyone's dream, while also reducing human error.

  • All about comms: the right information at the right time, leading to a faster, more organized onboarding experience.

Who benefits?

Hiring managers who want a more organized onboarding.

Is it a match?

Finding out the fit between a candidate and the company/vacancy is sometimes a biased activity, even when HR want to be as fair as possible. The feature I decided to call Tinder, it's what you need to let the system do the magic (at the end of this post I share with you some details on Responsible AI and non-biased AI).

What’s in it for you?

  • Screen like flash: screening is done by the system through a certain set of automated tests.

  • Fair hiring: by standardizing assessments, this feature ensures you're evaluating candidates based on skills and competencies, not personal biases.

  • Match made in heaven: AI matches CVs to job descriptions based purely on the facts and not the feelings or preferences of the recruiter.

Why is it important?

  • Time is the new currency: eliminating (maybe I prefer reducing - not a fan of AI doing all the important stuff, also not part of the Responsible AI guidelines) manual resume screening and quickly identifying the right candidates.

  • Justice above everything: candidates are initially evaluated only by their abilities.

  • Too much: it doesn't matter if there is a short or huge amount of resumes to screen, the feature will help you without lowering the quality of the results.

Who benefits?

Recruiters, hiring managers, and HR professionals.

Service-centric organizations

Designed to make your recruiting efforts worth the pain. Heps your recruiting team to create interview templates, build talent pools, view candidate profiles from LinkedIn, and collaborate seamlessly—all while customizing job postings with relevant position details.

What’s in it for you?

  • Improve your practices: creating job postings and managing candidate pipelines.

  • Collab: teams can collaborate easily, sharing and accessing candidate feedback, interview details, and more, all in one place.

  • Integrate to survive:

    • Managers kick off the recruitment through Manager self-service in D365 HR.

    • Recruiters use Power Apps (model-driven) to manage job postings and candidates.

    • Candidates can apply and track their application Power Pages.

Why is it important?

  • D365FO loves Power Platform: both solutions included.

  • One for each: one experience per persona.

  • Make it yours: processes can be adjusted to fit specific business needs, ensuring flexibility while maintaining efficiency.

Human resources business partners, recruiters, and hiring managers

Viva la integration

Microsoft Viva Connections 💛 Dynamics 365 Human Resources, centralizing HR data in one place. Info is delivered using adaptive cards, employees can access everything they need without going into different logins and systems.

What’s in it for you?

  • All in one: all HR information is accessible in one place, reducing logins.

  • Just for you: adaptive cards display specific data for any employee’s needs, ensuring they get the right information at the right time.

Why is it important?

  • Access ones, get it all: employees can access everything they need in one place, which improves their experience and reduces frustration from changing from one place to the other.

Who benefits?

HR teams and employees.

No more duplicates

No need to double enter data in Entra ID (former AAD) and Dynamics 365 Human Resources, saving time and reducing potential errors. Updating data in one system will migrate to the other.

What’s in it for you?

  • Do it once: create or update a record and it automatically syncs across both Microsoft Entra and Dynamics 365 Human Resources.

  • Do it right: there's no need to manually update or sync data between systems. Repetitive tasks are something from the past.

  • Reduce mistakes: basically, you minimize the risk of mistakes - and if still you mess things up sorting it is much easier.

Why is it important?

  • Smarter moves: no more headache of managing two separate sources of employee information.

Who benefits?

HR teams, system admins, and anyone managing employee data.
